Mercedes-Benz will unveil the all-new VLE on March 10, 2026, in Stuttgart, Germany, the birthplace of the automobile. The VLE is the first model built on the brand’s newly developed modular and scalable van architecture, marking the start of a new generation of vans from the company.
The fully electric VLE combines sedan-like ride and handling with the versatility of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Mercedes-Benz said the model focuses on customer value, particularly in design, flexibility, and everyday usability. Based on the available photos, we can infer that the VLE draws on design cues from the recently unveiled Vision Iconic Concept.
The VLE can seat up to eight passengers. Its lineup will range from family-oriented and leisure-focused variants to more exclusive shuttle configurations. Mercedes-Benz positions the VLE as a flexible vehicle designed to suit a wide range of needs, from daily family use to premium transport services.
The VLE has also completed major development milestones ahead of its production debut. According to Mercedes-Benz, the model demonstrated strong efficiency and sedan-like driving characteristics during testing.
In wind-tunnel testing, the VLE achieved record-breaking aerodynamic results. During a long-distance test drive from Stuttgart to Rome via the Alps, the vehicle required only two 15-minute charging stops. At the Nardò test track in southern Italy, the VLE demonstrated stable high-speed performance and agile handling.
The VLE also underwent winter testing at the Arctic Circle, where it demonstrated capability in cold weather, snow, and icy conditions. Mercedes-Benz said the results confirm the everyday usability of its new electric van platform. As a matter of fact, Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled the impressive turning radius of the VLE in an Instagram reel.
