FROM BRAZILIAN SUCCESS TO GLOBAL AMBITION
Gustavo Mioto is a Brazilian singer and songwriter best known for sertanejo, a genre rooted in the country’s rural culture. Born in Votuporanga, São Paulo, he began playing guitar at six and wrote his first song at ten. He started performing professionally as a teenager and released his debut album in 2012. His romantic songs and approachable personality later made him a major name in Brazilian music.
Mioto built his career through radio hits, live recordings, and an extensive touring schedule. “Impressionando os Anjos” and “Com ou Sem Mim” helped introduce his warm, emotional voice to a national audience. His success has attracted millions of followers and streaming listeners. He is now using that experience to explore opportunities beyond Brazil.
A NEW DIRECTION IN NASHVILLE
Mioto travelled to Nashville to learn more about the creative culture behind American country music. He joined songwriting sessions and worked alongside musicians and composers with experience in the genre. Writing in English required him to reconsider his phrasing, pronunciation, and storytelling. However, he did not want to remove the Brazilian qualities that make his voice distinctive.
That approach can be heard in “Last Goodbye” and “Drunk Side,” two English songs shaped by modern country production. “Drunk Side” was selected as the official theme of the 2026 Festa do Peão de Barretos. The event is one of Latin America’s largest celebrations of rodeo and rural traditions. Its support connected Mioto’s international plans with the culture behind his Brazilian success.
Mioto believes sertanejo and American country share several important qualities. Both styles grew from rural communities and often tell direct stories about love, heartbreak, family, and everyday life. His goal is not to copy an established Nashville formula. Instead, he wants to combine country songwriting with the emotions and melodies that shaped his career.
‘PENSAMENTOS INTRUSIVOS’ OPENS A NEW CHAPTER
Mioto has also announced a studio album titled Pensamentos Intrusivos, translated as Intrusive Thoughts. He revealed the project through a handwritten letter shared on social media. In the message, he described the album as one of the most important works of his life. He added, “Maybe it’s my best work so far.”
The first part of Pensamentos Intrusivos is expected to arrive on streaming platforms on September 3, 2026. The announcement presented the project as personal, honest, and willing to explore uncomfortable emotions. Mioto suggested that expressing those thoughts brought him a sense of relief. The album reflects an artist prepared to take creative risks during an important period of change.
