Eli Junior Kroupi wants to join Tottenham.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, who report that the Bournemouth striker prefers a move to Spurs over Paris Saint-Germain because he wants regular first-team football rather than a squad role behind PSG’s established stars.
As a result, PSG have shifted their focus to Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, with personal terms reportedly agreed and club negotiations progressing.
Tottenham now believe they are in a stronger position to land Kroupi, who is viewed as a priority target by Roberto De Zerbi as the club continues reshaping its attacking options this summer.
Spurs have already spent more than £230million this summer, with six new faces through the door and their transfer record broken twice.
£100m signing Sandro Tonali earlier this week became the headline new arrival of De Zerbi’s summer squad overhaul, following the arrivals of £85m Mateus Fernandes, £52m Jan Paul van Hecke, and free signings Martin Dubravka, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson.
Spurs will now look to further strengthen the squad, with a striker and left-side attacker likely to be next on the shopping list.
Standard Sport understands that Manchester City’s Savinho is again a target, after last summer’s failed pursuit, with both Junior Kroupi and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao also heavily linked.
Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is reportedly also of interest to De Zerbi, but Standard Sport understands that interest in James Trafford will not be pursued following Antonin Kinsky’s new contract.
